Your favourite place to stay?

Rum Jungle Bungalows in Batchelor in the Northern Territory. Named after a nearby uranium mine (which closed in 1971), these tropical units an hour south of Darwin are understated, elegant and perfectly attuned to their environment. Colourful, breezy, contemporary, immaculately clean, great value ... a kind of upmarket motel with tropical gardens, resident butterflies and fresh fruit for breakfast. Next door is Litchfield National Park, where you can cool off under a waterfall.

An excellently presented and appointed boutique establishment.  It is rare to find accommodation that has so much character, comfort and personal touch at this price.
Upon arrival speak to Sue for the inside word on visiting nearby Litchfield National Park.  Her tips allowed as to visit the park highlights, catching the perfect light at the right time while avoiding the crowds.
Also highly recommend the optional breakfast.  It is a delicious multi course event in a great garden setting.
Upon leaving I mentioned we intended to visit the local Territory Wildlife Park on our way back to Darwin and the next thing I know, Sue has produced a map and has also called up the wildlife centre to confirm the special event times.
A very satisfactory and comfortable stay.
